Supercycling Man... such an inspiring meeting!

On Thursday April 20th we have a visit from ‘Supercycling Man’ (aka Will Hodson an elementary teacher from London): He travelled across all the 7 Continents with his bicycle
Here is is a summary of what he has been up to:

He is riding around the world in order to:-

  • Raise £100,000 for Parkinson’s UK and several other charities
  • Cycle 100,000 kilometres across all 7 continents (including Antarctica) - a world first
  • Engage 100,000 children with the adventure through school visits and video ca
Supercycling Man lead a whole school assembly first thing on Thursday morning and visited each grade level throughout the day.  The theme of his classroom visits is ‘resilience’ as he explained how he travel, what are is joys, his challenges...

Here are some pictures taken when Gr 4 and Gr 5 students met him... it was so inspiring.

More information about Quiche
Quiche has a pastry crust and a filling of eggs and milk or cream which, when baked, becomes a custard. It can be made with vegetables, meat and seafood.

Quiche lorraine

Quiche lorraine (named after the Lorraine region of France) is a popular variant that was originally an open pie with a filling of custard with lardons. In English-speaking countries, modern preparations of the dish usually include mature cheese (Cheddar cheese often being used in British varieties), and the lardons are replaced by bacon.

Other varieties

Quiche with spinach
Quiche with mushroom and leek

There are many variants of quiche, including a wide variety of ingredients. Variants may be named descriptively, often in French, e.g. quiche au fromage (quiche with cheese) and quiche aux champignons (quiche with mushrooms) or conventionally, e.g. florentine (spinach) and provençale (tomatoes).
